Surveyor’s Week - A Global Event

Past Blogs About Surveyors

Surveyor’s Week is a great time to recognize the work of surveyors and their contributions, not only within the United States, but around the world. In our many blogs about surveying and famous surveyors, we’ve mainly focused on this country, but surveying is just as important around the world as it is here.

This year marks the first time in more than two decades that the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) will convene in the United States. FIG Working Week 2023 in Orlando is focused on laying the groundwork for the future of surveying while reinforcing the core practices that ensure the highest professional standards around the world. It’s a rare opportunity to share ideas and expertise with more than 2,000 colleagues from around the world and Berntsen is proud to support the efforts to bring this showcase to the US.

Needed now, more than ever

We all face an environment of accelerated change, rapid technological advancement, increasingly intense weather events and disputed boundaries. It is fortuitous that surveyors and spatial professionals from more than 80 countries can meet in-person to discuss common challenges and share novel solutions.

The event features expert-led sessions in ten separate tracks of technical interest and unequaled networking opportunities for surveyors and geospatial professionals from around the world.

Along with the core sessions, special one-day workshops will provide in-depth content, including:

Stop by our booth

Naturally, attendees will see the latest technology developed by global companies, including Esri, Trimble and of course, Berntsen. Feel free to stop by our booth to see our classic markers as well as what’s next in infrastructure marking … and enter a drawing for a limited-edition FIG 2023 survey marker while you’re there.

We are honored to be a Bronze sponsor of FIG Working Week 2023 and recognize the efforts of our colleagues at NSPS, the Florida Surveying and Mapping Association and the City of Orlando surveying department as key host coordinators of the working week. We encourage you to re-charge and energize your career, at FIG 2023 May 28-June 1, and we look forward to seeing you there!

* Fédération Internationale des Géomètres. Founded in 1878 as an exclusively European organization, FIG now includes more than 120 countries. Its official language has been English since 1995.
